As part of an ongoing outreach programme, Savanna has targeted two schools in the Gazankulu area as beneficiaries for donation and funding. Guests at Savanna are offered a tour of a Shangaan village and an authentic view of the local lifestyle. Mr Zamani Mathabula, organiser of these tours, gives the guests a traditional experience of local village life. The tour includes visits to the traditional healer, the Chief, the Chivakani Preschool and the Ian Mackenzie High School. Guests are also encouraged to taste local fare. Savanna donates a portion of the tour price to assist the two schools with equipment and general upkeep.

In addition, the shareholders of Savanna have allocated an annual share of profits to the community. These funds go towards local schools, staff housing and other areas of need in the local village. Guests are welcome to contribute to the fund which is managed by Savanna.
