29th April - PM

• We set out this afternoon to check if Mambiri and her cub were still at Nkombe dam. After a while of searching, we were unable to find any sign of them or the kill they had. Only a few horns and hooves remained, suggesting that something had robbed the kill! Paddy then found a single lioness from the Ximungwe pride on the clearings, with a very full belly, making it very clear who stole the kill! She was extremely full, and only showed half an interest in a herd of wildebeest that came into the clearing. One of the bulls smelled her scent near the water and became very nervous before running off.

• Paddy then found some tracks of Mambiri and her cub near Ingwe Liche, and shortly afterward found them on Mackenzie Cutline, heading west. We followed them until they cut north off Mackenzie Cutline, just east of Airstrip Road.

• Just outside camp we found a side-striped jackal, patrolling around the camp, looking for scraps to scavenge!
